Description
Adapted from the short story by Ambrose Bierce. Anne Cornaly stars in this famous film adaptation that won an Academy Award. The impressions passing through a man's mind are revealed in slow motion, in the moments before he is hanged during the Civil War. When the rope snaps, he is able to swim to safety. He entertains thoughts of his family while making his way home. Suddenly, his newfound sweetness of life comes to a halt. Chiefly without dialogue.
