Nobel Peace Prize Winners - Woodrow Wilson
This educational poster features a striking image and biographical summary of former U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. Wilson was the U.S. president during World War One. When the war ended, he set up a plan for lasting peace, which included the creation of an international peacekeeping organization called the League of Nations. Although this group didn't get the needed support, Wilson's efforts for world peace won him the Nobel Prize in 1919. His idea eventually came to fruition with the creation of the United Nations thirty years later.
